Yamal 09:56

about

The album is dedicated to the indigenous peoples of the Far North, particularly the Nenets of the Yamal Peninsula,
where I lived for seven months. Actually, writing the music inspired me Nenets mythology. From the Nenets the word "Yamal" means "edge of earth", so I called the album as well. Some clarifications: 1. Nga and Num - Two Nenets demiurges, the supreme gods of Yamal. Num - the god of the upper world, Nga - god of the underworld. 2. Minley - a bird with the seven iron wings, creating them a wind. 3. Halmer - Nenets cemeteries in the open air, where dead bodies lay in wooden boxes and sledges. 4. Vapak - Chukchi word; so is called a red amanita, mushroom, which is used by shamans of the peoples of the Far North
dive into a trance and healing.
